Questions

What is the set up fee for?

This is a base charge applicable to all lists which is imposed by the list owner to cover production and programming charges, including overheads, computer time and consumables.

Why is there a minimum charge?

The owner imposes these restrictions to ensure that your order is a profitable task.

Why can't we do the mailing or telemarketing ourselves?

This restriction placed on list rental by the owner is an industry wide standard. This restriction is in place to protect the security and integrity of the list and only implies to list rental.

What is a list rental agreement and why is it needed?

The agreement covers terms and conditions applicable to the agreed promotion. A List Rental Agreement needs to be signed by the List End User prior to dispatch of data. On occasion list owners will request your mail house to sign the agreement too.

What is the difference between renting and purchasing?

Rental is one time use only. Purchasing means you can be supplied with the data for any purpose you require, allowing multiple usage of the lists.

The cost of purchasing is notably higher than rental. However, this can work out to be more cost effective. When a list is purchased it is the purchasers responsibility to update the list.

How can TGALC find out if we use the rented data in an unauthorised fashion?

The lists are seeded with "Dummy Records" which find their way back to us and the list owner. Should your mail pack be received more than once from a rental then a copy has been taken. The re-use of data without prior authority is a breach of the List Rental Agreement and damages will be sought as directed under item (a) of the agreement.

What is list deliverability?

Each list will offer a % deliverability guarantee. As a general rule lists offer around 95% deliverability. This guarantee is a safeguard for accuracy and quality of data. Should list returns exceed the deliverability guarantee and the returned material is provided to TGALC within 30 days of the mailing date, a list rental refund will be applicable based on the % of returns exceeding the guarantee %.
